Q: What is this?
A: It's an online comic. If you're new to the concept, they're free comics
displayed entirely online. I draw Yuri the Gakidou in my spare time as a
hobby.

Q: How do you draw your comic?
A: Unlike a lot of digital artists, I don't tend to bother with a
preliminary sketch on paper. I draw everything, panels and all straight
into Adobe Photoshop 7 with an A6 Wacom Graphics Tablet.

Q: Do you accept fanart/fancomics/fanfics from anyone?
A: Yes! I l
ove receiving any kinds of fanstuff and feedback - just pop it
in an email to any one of us, or even contact us on AIM. Note: Any
fanart that I deem to have unsuitable content will not be
displayed in the fanart gallery.

Q: Do you do link exchanges?
A: Maybe. Show me your site and I might linkify you if I like it.

Q:Do you do commissions?
A: Yes, check out my commissions page.

Q: When did you start YtG?
A: I got a website with keenspa
ce in about October 2004, I think.

Q:How often do you update?
A: Like, weekly or so. Depending on how busy I am. I don't really have a
set day on which I update, because i'm a being of chaos.

Q: What are your influences for your art?
A: I wanted to adopt a sorta modern mainstream webcomic style, frankly. I
think my influences would be a large assortment of anime, comics, TV
cartoons, and of course other online artists.

Q: How did you come up with the storyline?
A: Well, I started with the characters, because the main cast are
origionally role play characters belonging to more than one person. I
patched it up around Yuri's background that I came up with god knows how
long ago, and tried to fit in a story and world that would fit with
everyone else's characters (Greg, Folin, Syung) I think i've finally
found a fairly open-ended situation everyone agrees on. Though the
storyline is no way ever complete.

Q: Is Yuri the Gakidou Japanese? What does her name mean?
A: Being set in the distant future, the characters aren't of any
countries or cultures we're familliar with today. But Yuri's ancestry,
and her name, is actually Russian/European. Gakidou is from a Japanese
word, but i've taken that word to use as a name for a specific species of
demon. No, YtG is not japanese, but I can't deny heavy manga influences.

Q: I'm thinking of starting my own webcomic, what do you think?
A: Only if you really like hard work. If you have the time, good luck! I'd like to read it.

Q: Tell us a little about yourself.
A: A: Okay.. uh... I'm a 17 year old gamer chick and art student from
Devon, England. I'll be studying Games Design in Preston next September.
I like scary/funny/adventure movies, animals, foreign food, and various
fantasy/sci-fi stuff. For more information and stalking material, check
out ze blog.
